Sylvia Odam

Sylvia Odam joined Raymond James in August 1991, bringing with her a commitment to the firm's values and principles. Over the years, she has held several key positions within the company, including branch operations manager from 2014 to 2023, and currently serves as the complex administrative manager since 2024.

Sylvia attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, where she concentrated in behavioral sciences. Her dedication to professional and community service is evident through her involvement in various civic and volunteer activities. She has been actively engaged in fundraising events for Bethany House in Baldwin, New York, and served as a liaison for the Raymond James DEI Mosaic Network at the 320 Park Avenue office from October 2022 to January 2024. Additionally, she has participated in ongoing fundraising efforts with Midtown Branches to benefit City Harvest, The United Way Annual School Backpack Drive, and Toys for Tots since 2017. Sylvia also volunteered with New York Cares, working with local NYC public schools from 2011 to 2014, and took part in the Juneteenth Celebration in Brooklyn, New York, in 2023.

A native New Yorker, Sylvia currently resides in Baldwin, New York, on Long Island. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and event/party planning. Sylvia is married to Steven Odam, a retired New York City police officer, and they have three children: Loren, Steven Jr. and Joshua.

Sylvia's goals for her clients and the complex include providing ongoing support on many levels to help grow the business. Her conscientiousness and intuitive nature are traits that her team and prospective advisors find valuable. Sylvia's interest in the investment services field and Raymond James' values make her feel like part of a big family.
