Madison graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993 and began his investment career in 1995, in San Francisco, California. He started in the trust department of Union Bank of California, earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation in 1998 and finished his time in California working as a fixed income portfolio manager in the private client group of the technology-focused investment banking firm Robertson Stephens until November 2001. For the next 21 years and prior to joining Raymond James, Madison worked as a financial advisor for the Frontier Investment Group of Scott & Stringfellow. Scott & Stringfellow had been acquired by BB&T and became Truist through the merger of BB&T and SunTrust.

Madison serves as the chair of the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls Foundation, board member of Camp River’s Bend, member of the professional advisors council of The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, and member of the Richmond Sponsoring Committee of FOCUS (Fellowship of Christians in Universities and Schools). Previously, he served on the Virginia Commonwealth University Foundation as a trustee, as well as chair of the investment committee and chair of the grant committee.

Madison enjoys tennis, golf, sporting clays, horseback riding, and spending time with his family – wife Sarah, sons John and Henry, and daughter Lucy.
