Throughout his over 25-year career, Jose Cabrera has been able to proactively serve corporate entities, institutions, high-net worth individuals and families both domestically and internationally. Along his journey, he has been awarded with a number of the industry’s highest honors including the Barron’s Top 1200 Financial Advisors List (2020-2022), The Financial Times Top 400 Advisors list (2017, 2019-2020), and the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list (2018-2021). As a Senior Partner of The Americas Group of Raymond James, he and his team have been able to develop a culture focused on placing clients first and serving their clients with excellence on a daily basis. The team was given the honor of being featured on Barron’s list of Top 100 Private Wealth Management Team’s in 2021-2022 and Forbes Top Wealth Management Teams High-Net-Worth 2022.

In 1989, Jose began his career by serving for 10 years as an independent fixed income sales trader executing trades for financial institutions. In 1999, he and his partner, Kevin, were brought to Smith Barney to help the company expand their international presence throughout The Americas and the English speaking Caribbean. Morgan Stanley acquired Smith Barney in 2008, and Jose further expanded his domestic and international footprint by partnering with Don d'Adesky's team in 2012. In 2015, The Americas Group transitioned to Raymond James.

A lifelong resident of Miami, Jose makes his home with his wife, Vilma. Together they have two adult children, Jose and Kristina, who are an integral part of The Americas Group team. Jose attends Christ Fellowship Church and is an avid golfer.

Financial Advisor teams are quantitatively rated based on varying types of revenues produced and assets under management by the financial professional, with weightings associated for each. The 2022 Forbes ranking of America's Top 100 Wealth Management Teams (Top 100 High Net Worth), developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. This ranking is based upon the period from 4/1/2021 to 3/31/2022 and was released on 11/8/2022. Advisor teams that are considered must have one advisor with a minimum of seven years of experience, have been in existence as a team for at least one year, have at least 5 team members, and have been nominated by their firm. The algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 6,000 team nominations, 100 advisor teams received the award. The Financial Times 400 Top Financial Advisors is an independent listing produced annually by Ignites Research, a division of Money-Media, Inc., on behalf of the Financial Times (April 2020). To qualify for the list, advisers had to have 10 years of experience and at least $300 million in assets under management (AUM) and no more than 60% of the AUM with institutional clients. The FT reaches out to some of the largest brokerages in the U.S. and asks them to provide a list of advisors who meet the minimum criteria outlined above. These advisors are then invited to apply for the ranking. Only advisors who submit an online application can be considered for the ranking. In 2020, roughly 1,040 applications were received and 400 were selected to the final list (38.5%). The 400 qualified advisers were then scored on six attributes: AUM, AUM growth rate, compliance record, years of experience, industry certifications, and online accessibility. AUM is the top factor, accounting for roughly 60-70 percent of the applicant’s score. Additionally, to provide a diversity of advisors, the FT placed a cap on the number of advisors from any one state that's roughly correlated to the distribution of millionaires across the U.S. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of advisor’s future performance.
