Matthew Lattig

Matthew Kirkham Lattig,

CDFA®, CPFA, MBA First Vice President, Investments

Matthew has a tremendous sense of purpose regarding his calling in life. “It’s all about the clients and the relationships we build with them,” says Matthew. “The ability to serve them and help them pursue their goals is very fulfilling.”

The clients he serves include educators, families, women in transition, business owners and nonprofits. The fact that he now serves the spouses and adult children of clients who have passed away is evidence of the trust their families place in him.

“I develop relationships with my clients that I believe are deeper than most advisor-client relationships,” Matthew adds. “It’s not unusual to be invited to family gatherings. This creates a very close family feeling to what we do.”

Matthew helps his clients articulate and prioritize their goals, even encouraging them to think a little bigger. “I want our clients to live a happy and full life,” says Matthew.

In addition to his role as a financial advisor, he is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, enabling him to guide clients through the divorce process and understand the long-term financial impact of their proposed divorce settlements.

Matthew also specializes in company retirement plans and employee education. He has obtained the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designation and works closely with business owners to help ensure they meet their fiduciary responsibilities as plan sponsors.

Matthew and Alana co-founded the Lattig Scott Wealth Management Group and joined Raymond James in 2017. “We were looking for a full-service firm that had less of a corporate feel that made us and our clients feel at home and put our clients’ needs first,” Matthew says.

Previously, Matthew was a vice president and senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch in Modesto, where he worked for 12 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Stanislaus State University in Turlock, California, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Matthew is the vice president of the board and co-founder of the Women’s Education and Leadership League, a nonprofit committed to enriching financial, physical and emotional wellness for women. He is also a past advisory board member for the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts.

Matthew lives in Modesto (his hometown) with his wife, Sarah, and their children, Victoria, Peyton and Aiden. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding and reading.
