If you are anything like me, a lot of your brain power is being spent right now on the upcoming elections. Probably, the most positive statement I can make at this point is that very soon, we can all devote our thought life to something that is healthier.
The number one question I am hearing from clients, friends, and families is how do the markets respond to XXX winning the YYY election? I have to admit as much as I wish I had a crystal ball and could give everyone the answer they want to hear; I truly have no clue.
My opinion, as of this missive, is the financial markets already know who is going to win and are happy with that result based on market performance month-to-date in October. What you will notice is, we don't know who that will turn out to be.
