Driven by his desire to help individuals learn and become more financially successful, Gary began his professional investment career with national brokerage firms in 1983. He established Gateway Wealth Strategies more than 20 years ago. A 1978 graduate of Washington & Lee University, he earned a Bachelor of Science with special attainments in commerce.
He lives in his hometown of Greenville with his wife, Sheri. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville where he serves as an usher. Their daughters, Emma Lyne graduated from the Clemson School of Architecture, and Madison is majoring in Food Science / Nutrition at Clemson. As their daughters have become older, Gary's activities have changed as well. Instead of teaching third grade Sunday school and coaching Greenville YMCA girls' soccer, Gary and Sheri now play more golf together.
