As a native Mid-Missourian, it only made sense that when I decided to start my own business as an independent financial advisor I would choose to do so here in Columbia, Missouri.

I grew up in Jefferson City, graduating from Helias High School in 1984. I came here to the University of Missouri in the Fall of 1984 on a baseball scholarship and after pitching for the Tigers in the Spring of 1985, decided to transfer to Southwest Missouri State, now Missouri State University. As a sophomore, I was captain of the first team in school history to make it into the NCAA Division I Tournament. After graduating with a degree in History and a minor in Political Science, I moved to Columbia to pursue my Master’s Degree and have been living here ever since.

In 1997, I began my career in the financial services field, and have been serving the investing needs of my clients ever since. In the 24 years that I have been in this industry, the world has experienced tumultuous change. The bursting of the technology bubble in early 2000; the horrible tragedy of 9/11 and it's economic aftermath; the financial crisis of 2008 are just a few examples.

Throughout all of these "panics", the story my clients heard when they came to me for advice was always the same. "Don't panic", "Stay focused on the long term", and most importantly, "Add money to your investments during times of crisis". I have helped clients with various strategies through up and down markets to keep them aligned with their goals. It is that consistency of message and dogged determination to guide my clients from the worst impulses that their emotions tempt them with that I am most proud of being able to deliver over the years.

Outside of the office, my life revolves around my family. My wife Barbara and I have been married for 30 years. We have a beautiful daughter, Addison, who lives and works in the Kansas City area.
