Jim Zientara is a native of Whiting, Indiana, near Chicago. He received a B.S. from Purdue University in 1966 in math and a minor in physics. Two years as a junior high math teacher. Then an MBA from Indiana University in 1970 in finance and management.
- In 1970, he joined the Trust Investment Department of the Continental Bank of Chicago.
- In 1972, he moved to Florida and joined the Trust Investment Department of the Palmer Bank of Sarasota. He was on the Investment Committee of the Florida Bankers' Association.
- In 1975, Mr. Zientara joined Dean Witter, now Morgan Stanley, as a financial planner.
- In 1989, he received the title of Certified Investment Management Analyst®(CIMA®) from the Wharton School of Business.
- In 1990, he joined the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton, Kiwanian of the Year in 1999, and on the Board from 2000-2002. He was a founder of the Manatee PC Users Group and is a member of the Bradenton Country Club.
- In 2009, he joined Raymond James Financial Services and opened a branch in Lakewood Ranch. In 2018, he opened his second branch inside Financial Access Federal Credit Union in Bradenton.
He enjoys computers, golf, and amateur ham radio with call sign of W4MAN. Married 58 years to Francie, a retired high school English teacher, they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, watching movies in their home theater, and being parents/grandparents
