    Wealth Advisor

Traveling the globe in search of best practices, innovative ideas and a different perspective, Jim is a keen observer and a student of the world.

Born in the northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area, his family moved back and forth between Virginia and Texas for all his young life, so he considers both places home. Having traveled North America while officiating minor league professional hockey, he ultimately settled in the Charlotte, NC area as a Golf Professional, becoming a Class “A” PGA Professional while continuing to work in hockey.  Jim worked games in the ECHL, AHL and NHL as an official and referee. The relationships he developed during those years led to his being named the President/Commissioner of the start-up Southern Professional Hockey League in 2007, a position he held and a League he cultivated for eleven full seasons. It was only when he felt the League was firmly established and he’d done all he could to help it grow and succeed that he decided a career change was in order – and this brought him to the Financial Services Industry and Williamson Wealth Group.

Away from work, Jim still looks for a good challenge - he obtained his Private Pilot’s license while volunteering for Angel flights, serving special needs patients and family members that lived in remote areas and getting them to their destinations. He maintains his love of both golf and hockey to this day, and currently devotes his time mentoring junior golfers at his home club in North Carolina.

Jim excels above all else at the art of service and at building relationships, the result of years spent in minor league sports and of working at a four-star resort. He brings this ‘client first’ mentality to Williamson Wealth Group, and he’ll work tirelessly to make sure his clients feel at home with our group – no matter where in the world they call home.

He and his wife Kirsten live in Mooresville, NC with their two amazing and incredibly spoiled dogs, Indie and Inuk. They like to spend time walking the dogs, playing golf and traveling as often as possible. Some of their favorite destinations include Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho domestically, and Belgium, Austria and Switzerland internationally.
