Lionel started his financial services career in 1987 and hasn’t looked back. He enjoys helping clients achieve their financial goals and personal aspirations by helping them build, manage, preserve and transition wealth from one generation to the next. Lionel works closely with individuals, nonprofits, businesses and local governments through investment management, retirement planning, lines of credit and mortgage financing, risk management, education funding solutions, estate and trust planning, cash management and a variety of other financial services. In addition to serving his U.S clients, Lionel also specializes in serving international offshore clients.

He began his career at Merrill Lynch, first as a financial consultant trainee before eventually becoming assistant vice president. Soon after, he transitioned to UBS as vice president, Investments. Before kick-starting his financial career, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology before going on to receive a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Jacksonville State University and also earning the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM certification.

Lionel firmly believes in civic duty and served on the Colorado Springs City Council and as Mayor of Colorado Springs from 2003 to 2011, and also served as a member of the board of directors for the Colorado Springs and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and Pikes Peaks United Way. He is currently an active member of the Colorado Springs Military Affairs Council and the Apartment Association of Southern Colorado.

Lionel is originally from El Paso, TX having grown up there after his father retired from a distinguished Army career. He divides his time between El Paso and his home in Colorado Springs. He and his wife Lynn enjoy running, hiking, traveling and supporting various non-profit organizations.
