• James F. Marchesi, CFP®, AIF®

    Partner, Mill Ridge Wealth Management

    Financial Advisor

Jim understands that by building and upholding client relationships centered on trust, he can best serve as his clients’ valued point person. This, in turn, helps to create an efficient, unbiased decision-making process and enables those he serves to keep more of their most prized asset: their time. Jim crafts tailor-made financial planning frameworks for his clients, advising them on real life issues with a focus on their core needs. Additionally, he takes great pride in building and managing investment portfolios with a focus on risk-adjusted returns, and works with clients to maximize their investment perspective and minimize their emotional perspective.

Jim has been a financial advisor since 1994, following his graduation from Hobart College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. While completing his studies, Jim gained considerable exposure to the institutional investment arena through multiple internships. Prior to co-founding Mill Ridge Wealth Management, Jim served at Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney. The professionals at Mill Ridge Wealth Management work closely with a client base consisting of high-net-worth individuals and families, with a focus on business owners, business retirement plans and their plan participants.

Jim has contributed to local newspapers and multiple periodicals, writing articles that focus on financial planning issues, investment strategy topics and financial counseling cases. A graduate of the financial planning program at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Jim earned his Certified Financial Planner® certification in 2004. He holds his Series 7, 31, 63 and 65, as well as his life and health insurance licenses.

When he’s not in the office, Jim can be found spending time with his wife, two children and two dogs. He enjoys family travel, manageable home improvement projects, golfing and exercising.
