In 2009, Hans was asked to serve as the regional leader for an area encompassing Vermont, northern New Hampshire and western Massachusetts, and was named a principal with the firm in 2011. In 2013, Hans assumed the role of an area leader, responsible for 365 branches throughout five New England states.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Hanover College in Indiana and an MBA in strategic management from Vermont’s Norwich University. He has also earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation, awarded to individuals who have demonstrated fundamental financial knowledge of asset management and investments.

Giving back is a priority for Hans, who is passionate about causes that support cancer research. In June 2016, he participated in a charity bike ride that raised over $175,000 for cancer research and sibling support. He currently serves on the board of trustees for OM Fisher Home, helping support the senior living facility Westview Meadows and The Gary Residence in Montpelier, Vermont.
