Managing Director

I’m a managing director, financial advisor, founder and lead planning and investment strategist of The Cape Fear Group of Raymond James. For over 40 years, I’ve been committed to helping my clients pursue their investment goals.

I began my career in 1981 with Wheat, First Securities and became branch manager of their Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, office in 1983. In 1985, I became the president and co-founder of Fox, Graham & Mintz Securities in Wilmington, North Carolina, and joined Scott & Stringfellow in 1990 when Fox, Graham & Mintz was acquired by the firm. I was named chief administrative officer of the firm in 1995 and CFO in 1996. In 1997, I was appointed executive vice president and director of the Private Client Group, and elected to the board of directors of Scott & Stringfellow Financial, Inc. I returned to my hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina, in 2003 to focus on managing portfolios for high-net-worth clients. In 2021, I joined Raymond James, drawn by the firm’s focus on client-first service and in-depth resources.
