Scott Anderson

Scott Anderson,

CWS® Partner, AWMG Wealth Manager, RJFS

Scott’s deep financial knowledge and 38 years of industry experience have enabled him to navigate every type of economic environment, including four bear markets.

He designs custom client investment strategies and provides coaching for overall financial planning, including estate planning and retirement planning. He coordinates with CPAs and attorneys to support his clients and combine the capabilities of individual professionals into a powerful collaboration.

In addition, Scott does comprehensive investment planning for individuals and corporate accounts. As a Certified Wealth Strategist®, Scott has training designed to equip him to advise clients on liabilities, estate planning, executive compensation, insurance needs, business succession and other related concerns. Ongoing education is important to Scott and, while at DA Davidson, he also completed the Portfolio Concepts Inc. Preferred Portfolio Management course.

Family is most important to Scott and helping families is what he’s passionate about. Matt Anderson is Scott’s son and business partner, and they work together as a team. They have clients that span two or three generations and, in some cases, even four. To Scott, they are more than just clients, they are friends. He loves receiving their Christmas cards each year and seeing their families grow.

Scott works with clients on a personal level, getting to know them in order to create the financial plan that’s right for them. “Every client has a thorough discovery meeting to help us understand their investment needs and family dynamics and to identify what they value so we can develop a plan to make sure we are addressing all pertinent areas.”

With every action, Scott strives to be a trusted financial partner to his clients. Doing what’s right is what guides him. “My goals have always been to treat our clients well, make sure they are invested properly, and protect them from letting their emotions get in the way of making sound financial decisions,” Scott says.

Scott has an unparalleled work ethic and loves what he does. He’s known to be the first one in the office in the morning and the last to leave at night. He feels fortunate that he can do what he enjoys. “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life,” says Scott.

Scott first started as a financial planner in 1984 at the age of 24. He spent 21 years at A.G. Edwards & Sons before moving to D.A. Davidson in 2005, where he served as a senior vice president, financial advisor and co-branch manager in Lake Oswego. He served on the firm’s board of directors.

Scott transitioned to Raymond James with his team in May 2022 and enjoys the added technology and support his team now has. Scott is a graduate of Portland State University and holds Series 7, 24, 63, 65 and 66 securities licenses.

Away from the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Marina, and his granddaughter, Ainsley. In his free time, he works out regularly at Orange Theory, plays golf and spends time on the river.

Raymond James does not provide tax or legal services. Please discuss these matters with the appropriate professional.
