After graduating from Hamilton College in 2000 with a degree in economics, John moved to New York City where he worked for Credit Suisse First Boston Direct as an investment advisor and for Dealogic, Inc. as an equity syndication analyst. Upon returning to Elmira, John worked for nine years as a portfolio manager in the Investment Department at Chemung Canal Trust Company. In January 2016, John co-founded The Brand Schweizer Group / Raymond James. He has completed rigorous examinations to obtain his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, one of the most respected designations in finance. John has also obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. He is a Registered Principal, holds Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses, as well as Life Insurance and Variable Annuity licenses. John is a graduate of NYS Banker Trust Investment School and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA). John currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Arnot Realty Corporation. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at Elmira College, where he is Chairman of the Investment Committee. John is a former Board Trustee at the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, where he also served as Chairman of their Investment Committee. John is also a past Director at the Clemens Center, Elmira City Club, and Elmira Country Club.
