René A. Dierkes

Senior Vice President, Wealth Management

René Dierkes believes in conducting a more thorough analysis of the investments he recommends. That is why you will find him and his business partner, Frank, meeting and speaking regularly with portfolio managers and investment analysts, and visiting the companies whose stocks they are recommending. René has even traveled completely across the country just to attend a shareholders meeting and speak personally to the CEO.

It all stems from the fact that René and his partner follow their own investment advice. In other words, most of the securities they recommend to their clients and even their own family members are in their own accounts as well.

René joined Raymond James in July 2019, attracted by the firm’s culture of independence that gives him the freedom to tailor an investment plan based solely on the financial well-being of each client and their unique goals and risk tolerance.

René has worked in the investment industry since 1987. He joined Legg Mason in 1990, which was subsequently acquired by Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 29 years. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University.

Dedicated to serving his community, René is a councilman on the Mountainside Governing Body. He has served on the Rahway Valley Authority as chair and commissioner, representing the town of Mountainside.

René lives in Mountainside with his wife, Wei, and children, Fiorella and Marcello. In his free time, René enjoys scuba diving, skiing and flying. He is a licensed glider pilot, single-engine airplane pilot and helicopter pilot.

He also has a love of travel, having grown up on U.S. military bases in Italy, Germany and Spain. René has visited 40 countries, lived with a Nigerian family for a month in Lagos, Nigeria, and spent two weeks with a family in Santiago, Chile. His wife is from China and he has stayed with her family in Beijing.
