Rita Wright Oujesky

Vice President, Investments Financial Advisor

Rita’s career began in 1986 as a sales assistant/secretary with E.F. Hutton. Becoming increasingly more interested in a financial advisory role, she set her sights to becoming Series 7, 65, 63, 68 securities licensed and life and annuity insurance licensed. Rita then partnered with a senior financial advisor and vice president at the firm in 1987. Three years later, she relocated to North Richland Hills, Texas.

“I love talking with clients and assisting them with their current and future investing needs,” Rita said. “I treat my clients like I would want to be treated if I didn’t do this job.”

Rita joined Merrill Lynch in Fort Worth and Las Colinas, Texas, in 1991, and then UBS Financial Services in 2003, prior to joining Raymond James in 2009.

As a financial advisor, there are times when Rita must tell clients something they don’t want to hear. “It’s my job to make sure my clients understand risk versus return, and that investing is a marathon not a sprint,” Rita said. “Specializing in financial and retirement planning, my goal is to meet their goals and objectives with the least amount of risk.”

Rita graduated with a BBA in petroleum land management from Oklahoma University in Norman. She relocated to Austin with Ray Oujesky, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law School that same year.

Originally from Oklahoma, Rita and her husband, Ray, live in North Richmond Hills, Texas. They have two children, Madeline Grace and Jillian Claire. Ray is an attorney with Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP Law, of Fort Worth.

Community involvement

Rita is active with Birdville Independent School District (BISD) schools, PTA Snow Heights, PTA North Richland Middle, PTA Richland High School, 2001 to present, various BISD Booster Clubs and Birdville ISD Education Foundation. She is also on the North Richland Hills City Council.

Previously, she served on the Health Facilities Development Corporation and Industrial Development Corporation, from 2007 to 2009; TIF Reinvestment Zone One and Two, 2012; BISD Leadership, 2012 to 2016; Park and Recreation Facilities Development Board, 2017; Medical City North Hills Hospital, Board of Trustees, 2010 to present; Meadowlakes Homeowner Association, Treasurer, 2011 to 2015; and is a North Texas Commission Board of Director, 2017. She is a member of The Hills Church of Christ and a volunteer in various Teen Program 24/7 Activities, Baby Boomer Bible Class activities, Welcome New Member Program, D Group for Teens and grades 6 through 12 Bible Class and Retreat/Camp.

Rita has no time left for hobbies. Her children and their many activities have taken the place of hobbies, but she “remembers” playing tennis, reading for pleasure (not just business), traveling (and not just Disney and various domestic theme parks) and gardening.
