Caroline Sobolewski, CRPC™ Financial Advisor

With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Caroline brings empathy and a high level of attention to her clients. Her responsiveness and active listening skills empower her to be a sounding board to her clients, which helps ensure that she designs an investment plan that centers on what matters most to them.

Self-described as a “teacher at heart,” Caroline cites education as one of her favorite parts of being a financial advisor. The time she spends educating clients about investments and breaking down jargon for them, to her, is time well spent. Caroline is dedicated to helping her clients feel confident about their financial futures, from assisting their loved ones to retirement.

In June 2023, Caroline joined Raymond James. Prior to this, she served as vice president and senior relationship manager at Merrill Lynch from 2013 to 2023. From 2007 to 2013, she worked as a registered senior client associate at Merrill Lynch. Caroline’s dedication and work experience are backed by the designations she has earned: Certified Retirement Planning CounselorTM and Certified Plan Fiduciary AdvisorTM. She is a graduate of Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where she earned two bachelor’s degrees in writing and English, with a minor in theology.

Caroline specializes in working with women investors, whether that means professional women who are accumulating wealth or those who have experienced significant life events, such as divorce or being widowed. She also enjoys serving next-gen clients who may inherit family wealth, so she can help guide them in preserving and managing their assets.

Regardless of who her clients are, Caroline defines success as making human connections, leaving the world a better place and using the potential she feels she has been blessed with. After feeling the impacts of Hurricane Katrina firsthand, she realized the importance of security. Part of her inspiration to work in finance was her need post-Katrina to feel she could “weather any storm” and aim to help others in the same endeavor.

Originally from Metairie, Louisiana, Caroline spent some time in Mobile for school and briefly lived in Poland, where she met her husband. She currently lives in Mandeville and has three children, Sebastian, John and Leo. She’s a prior board member for ARC of the Greater New Orleans area and a volunteer teacher for Mary Queen of Peace Parish School of Religion, as well as a current member of Spring Hill College Alumni Association, Mount Carmel Academy Alumni Association and the Phi Mu National Fraternity Alumni Association.

The things that fill Caroline’s cup include volunteer work with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and taking time for herself with activities like 5 a.m. yoga, reading and traveling solo. She also loves spending time with her family, whether it’s driving her boys around to Boy Scouts and tutors or cooking her father’s old creole recipes.

Q&A: PERSONALLY SPEAKING

  • If you weren't doing what you do today, what other job would you have?
I'd be a teacher or a counselor - preferably on a college campus, maybe an English professor. I've always had a passion for learning, especially doing research and writing. If I won the lottery I'd probably go back to school and just accumulate degrees for the love of it!
  • If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Italy! Probably Tuscany. I've read so much about the country but never had the chance to visit. And they have everything I love: pasta, olives, wine, history...
  • How do you define success?
I truly believe it lies in being happy, and feeling gratitude every day. Success for me involves connecting with others, and leaving a positive impact on the world by sharing the gifts I've been given.
