He specializes in retirement planning, and has ample experience taking clients’ life savings and creating a monthly income stream designed to meet their needs and goals.
Houston started his career in 2011 at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, where he diligently served clients until becoming a senior financial advisor and vice president. He joined Raymond James in 2021, drawn by the firm’s client-first values and robust technology and product offerings. In addition to his hands-on industry experience, Houston holds a Bachelor of Science in economics and a minor in business administration from Texas A&M University. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, which demonstrates his commitment to meeting the CFP Board’s continuing education requirements and practicing with higher ethical standards.
Originally from El Dorado, Kansas, Houston learned the value of hard work from a young age watching his parents and helped during summers on local farms bailing hay for five cents a bail. It’s an experience that shaped his character and his approach to finance.
Houston moved to Texas in 2003, where he still lives with his wife, Hannah, and their children, Knox, Theodore and Byrdie. When he’s not in the office, Houston can be found mountain biking, exploring state and national parks with his family, and competing in the occasional adventure race.
