John Davison is a financial advisor and senior vice president in the Kingsport, Tennessee, branch office of Raymond James. He has over 25 years of service in the financial industry. John emphasizes having a down-to-earth attitude and approachable nature, ensuring his clients feel comfortable working alongside him. Trust and loyalty are the tenets of John’s practice, and he works diligently each day to ensure that those he serves not only understand their investments, but feel at ease about their financial outlook. John takes pride in simplifying complex financial topics so that all of his clients can both understand and pursue the investment landscape that works best for their lives.

John was drawn to the financial services industry because it enabled him to use his natural abilities in math as well as tap into his love of people and of helping others. He enjoys staying current with market performance, trends and products, as well as meeting with existing and prospective clients. In fact, relationship building is at the forefront for John, who sincerely enjoys answering client questions – whether big or small – and providing guidance to set them on the path toward their most closely held goals.

John graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in industrial management and a certificate in economics. Prior to joining Raymond James in 1995, he served as a financial advisor with J.C. Bradford for three years.

Active in his community, John has served as a weekly volunteer math tutor with a community after-school program for three years, a volunteer referee and coach with Upward Sports basketball for seven years, and a Meals on Wheels volunteer for three years. John is also involved with Rotary and has been active with his local chamber of commerce for 23 years. In the past, John served on the boards of the YMCA for six years and the Red Cross for two years.

Originally from and currently living in Kingsport, John makes his home with his wife, Amanda. The couple have three children, Jake, Laura and Abigail. When he’s not in the office, John spends his free time golfing, fishing, running, traveling and cheering on Georgia Tech sports teams.
