Greg is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional with Raymond James and has been working in the financial services industry since 2000. Greg got his start as a consultant at Price Waterhouse, now PwC, a worldwide consultancy in 157 countries. He transitioned solely to investments when he joined Texas Presbyterian Foundation in Dallas as an analyst, and he moved to Raymond James in 2010. Greg also worked as a trader during the tail end of the dot.com boom and subsequent bust.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and philosophy from Baylor University and a Master’s of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary. His deep commitment to volunteerism has taken him to countries such as El Salvador, China, Costa Rica, Mexico and Nigeria. He also has served on several non-profit boards over the years, and led pre-retirement seminars for the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (USA) from 2019 – 2023.
Besides the comprehensive wealth management Greg provides to business owners, retirees, and professionals, Greg has a particular affinity for helping widows and widowers, divorcees, and clergy. Some of Greg’s clients choose to align their investment choices with their values. Referred to as ESG investing for the criteria on which companies are evaluated – environmental, social and governance – sustainable investing considers that progress toward solving challenges such as climate change, social inequality and unfair business practices can be made by investing in companies and enterprises that promote sustainability.
After nine years in Chicago, Greg and his family moved to Atlanta in 2023 when his wife, Shannon, began serving as the Senior Pastor of Central Presbyterian Church. Greg continues to be based out of the Raymond James office in Chicago. Due primarily to Shannon’s dynamic career, they have lived previously in Decatur, GA, The Woodlands, TX, Irving, TX, and Black Mountain, NC. Greg and Shannon have two young adult children, Hannah and Ryan.
