For more than 15 years, Scott has worked in the financial services industry and dedicated himself to acquiring the expertise necessary to best serve his clients.

Prior to joining Kim Wealth Management Group of Raymond James, Scott was a Retirement Consultant to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) and Loudoun County Public Schools where he taught retirement plan participants the value of setting and prioritizing goals, having a disciplined financial plan, saving early and often, and selecting the right investments to achieve a successful retirement outcome. 

To expand the scope of his practice and deliver a more holistic planning model to clients, Scott partnered with Sam Kim in 2013. They utilize a careful goals-based planning approach, helping individuals and families build, manage, preserve, and transition wealth.

In addition to providing clients comprehensive wealth management, Scott has a particular focus on advanced retirement plan design and implementation for small businesses and self-employed individuals.

Over the years Scott has completed rigorous curriculum to earn his Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®), Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM (CRPS®), and Certified Plan Fiduciary AdvisorSM (CPFA®) designations. The CRPC® is a leading credential for those helping clients with pre-and post-retirement needs, asset management, estate planning, and the entire retirement planning process. The CRPS®, a highly specialized credential, is appropriate for those helping businesses with the installation, maintenance, and administration of retirement plans. The CPFA® is a credential awarded to those demonstrating a high level of knowledge, expertise, and commitment to working with retirement plans and helping plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.

Scott graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in marketing and minor in psychology. He was also captain and MVP of the men’s soccer team.

A native of Fairfax, VA, Scott and his wife, Julie, laid down roots in Loudoun County in 2003 and currently reside in Sterling, VA with their two sons, Kelan and Carson. Scott is an avid soccer player and in of his free time can be found on the soccer field playing, coaching, and watching his boys compete.
