Prior to joining the Lumen Wealth Group, Julia’s expertise derived from Financial Planning at Independent Capital Management beginning in 2005. She was quickly promoted through the ranks and after five years left to join Waddell & Reed, Inc., where Julia served as the Managing Principal of the South Bay Division of California. There, she was able to combine her passion for Financial Advisor leadership, growth, and development, with her skills in financial planning and client asset management.
In November of 2017, Julia co-founded the Lumen Wealth Group at Raymond James, with her business partner Chris. Julia’s focus is going the extra mile for clients by providing them with a top-notch experience. She especially helps clients connect the dots of their financial lives, after all, solving puzzles is one of her favorite activities. Julia leads the onboarding, implementation, forecasting, and creation of functional strategies.
Julia’s passion for helping advisors translated to her co-founding Noble Wealth Partners, Inc. Noble is a collective of advisors who share in resources and expertise. Julia guides them with system improvements and streamlining of practices to help become that much more efficient.
Julia is a native of Moscow, Russia and moved to Fairfax, Virginia in the spring of 1996. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004 earning a dual degree in Economics and Theatre. In 2012, Julia obtained the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation. She has served as the President of the Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles for several years and now took her passion for volunteering to her son’s PTO* where she is on the board as well. Julia, her husband Jeremy, and their two sons Nathan and Liam, live in Los Angeles. Outside of work, the Wiss’ family enjoys travel, live music, and hiking.
