Sikes Financial Group Website

For two decades, Derrick has helped clients plan and pursue their financial goals and retirement income objective. Guided by his experience and expertise, he has helped them through market conditions that have proven to be historically challenging.

Derrick’s main goal for clients is to help them fill the income gap between what their guaranteed sources of income provide and what they need to live in retirement. He works closely with clients to let them know how their plans are progressing and provides education on their options or other opportunities that may help reach their goals.  Derrick began his professional life as an engineer with Pratt & Whitney after graduating Auburn University with a degree in electrical engineering. He later served as chief operating officer for Sikes Composites, a family manufacturing business that employed 25 associates. His interest in helping others eventually led him to the financial services industry in 2001, where he is able to use his engineering background to take a disciplined, analytical approach to managing assets for his clients.

Derrick and his wife, Patsy, live in Derrick’s hometown of Wetumpka. They are members of Church of the Highlands where Derrick leads Financial Peace University small groups.  Not ones to simply talk about helping others, he, and Patsy, who is a RN, make annual surgical mission trips to Guatemala with Health Talents International where Derrick assists in surgery.

When not busy helping and serving others, Derrick enjoys fishing, reading, cooking and attending Auburn football and basketball games.
