He cultivates an in-depth approach to asset management and portfolio construction, for individuals, families, and business owners throughout the country. Don was recently recognized in Forbes "Best-InState Wealth Advisors 2021” and previously named in 2020. In 2019, he ranked #22 in New Jersey on “Forbes Next Gen Best-In-State Wealth Advisors”.
Don holds his Series 7, 63, 65, and 66 licenses. In addition, he holds his Series 9 and 10 licenses, which speak to his knowledge of compliance within the financial industry. As a compliment to his investment practice, Don maintains his insurance license and is registered to sell life insurance. He credits his range of qualifications when providing his clients with the most strategic investment vehicles on the market.
A Morristown native, he joined MWM in 2010 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in economics. Don enjoys supporting local businesses and dining out at his favorite restaurants. You can find Don playing tennis, competing on the hockey court, or playing a round at Fiddler’s Elbow in Bedminster, New Jersey.
While his hobbies and interests make life more exciting, nothing is more important than his family. Don’s life changed for the better with the birth of his daughter, Lennon, whom he adores. He is fortunate to have a close relationship with his mother, Gloria and two younger sisters, Alexa and Rachel. Don's father, Don Giovanello Sr., passed away in May of 2018 after a 16-month battle with brain cancer. Don credits his father with helping him build his practice and for being the best mentor and father a son could ever have.
The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 32,000 nominations, more than 4,000 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of advisor's future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients' experience.
