Rich Grobman

AAMS™, WMSTM
Managing Director, Investments

Richard joined Raymond James in 2017 as a Managing Director, Investments. Prior to joining Raymond James, Richard was a Managing Director, Investments at Oppenheimer & Co Inc. for 32 years, while also serving as the branch manager of the Philadelphia office for 25 years. In these roles, he provided investment advice to clients and served on various firm and regional management committees. This experience provided Richard with an in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, and enabled him to experience virtually all aspects of the industry from the ground up. He applies this experience to providing practical advice to clients as they manage their financial affairs. He believes investing is “a game of hitting singles.” If we try to do the right thing on a day-to-day basis, do not react emotionally to market swings, and invest for the long-term, the rest will take care of itself.

Richard joined the Jenkintown office of W.H. Newbold’s, (which subsequently became Oppenheimer) as a financial advisor in 1985 directly from graduate school. Throughout his career at Oppenheimer, he served on various NASD and FINRA Committees. Richard has also been named to the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Forbes list of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors.

Richard received an MBA in finance-investment management from Drexel University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Florida. While at Florida, he threw the javelin as a member of the track and field team, and was elected as a co-captain of the team his senior year. He and his wife Patty have three children: Benjamin, Rachael and Daniel.
