Randy is the founding member and managing director of the RL Consulting Group. He is approaching 40 years of experience in the financial industry, and a solid background in serving the wealth management needs of clients.
With expertise in financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, asset allocation and portfolio management, Randy helps individuals establish goals and then develops a comprehensive financial plan for pursuing their objectives and monitoring the progress over time. He also specializes in creating, implementing and maintaining retirement plans for businesses.
He is a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, Chartered Investment Management Consultant and holds Series 3, 7, 63 and 65 licenses, as well as life, health insurance and variable annuity licenses.
Randy joined Raymond James in 2002. He began his career in 1981 with E.F. Hutton & Company in Grand Rapids, where he was a mutual fund coordinator for more than five years. He moved to Thomson McKinnon in 1987, where he helped design one of the firm’s first 401(k) plans. In 1989, Thomson McKinnon was acquired by Prudential Securities. Randy graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in finance and business.
Randy is active in the community as a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church, Grand Rapids Economics Club and Cascade Community Foundation, and he volunteers at the Kids Food Basket. He also coached an AAU Girls Basketball team for over three years, competing in tournaments all over the Midwest. In addition, Randy has spent several years volunteering for the Grand Rapids Boy Scouts of American, Grand Rapids Wheelchair Sports Foundation, Rally for the Cure Pink Ball Charity Golf Classic and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.
A native of Grand Rapids, Randy lives in Cascade Township with his wife, Theresa, and their dog, Lizzy. Randy has two children, Sam and Morgan. In his free time, Randy enjoys golf, biking and travel.
