    Financial Advisor

I have been a financial advisor for over 20 years. This is my second career which overlapped with a career as an Air Force navigator. I am a native of Greenville, SC and graduated from Duke University in 1984. After eight years on active duty, I joined the 908th Airlift Wing at Maxell AFB and made Alabama my home in 1992. I also took some time after moving to Montgomery to complete an MPA at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM).

I started this career path in 1995 with Prudential Preferred, a firm that no longer exists. Sensing organizational tumult after joining that firm, I moved to First Montgomery Bank (later Aliant Bank) and Sterne Agee Financial Services in 1996. In June 1998 I earned the Certified Financial Planner® license. I enjoyed a 20-year career with Aliant/Sterne and when both entities were acquired by other businesses, I moved to Raymond James Financial Services in the fall of 2016.

I have had the benefit and privilege of working with some remarkable and talented people over this time who are still among my clients, colleagues and good friends. Since my early days in the business, I have pursued a specialty in managing risk for clients. My philosophy is that risk management for wealth should come first as we have no real control over market trends and developments. I have also focused on building custom income generating portfolios both for clients in or approaching retirement and for business owners seeking to keep their financial capital in lower risk strategies.

Today, my team works for over 150 client households in over seven states from our office in Birmingham. Fortunately, the navigation skills I learned years ago serve me well today in helping clients chart a course free from hazards and obstacles. If our approach to wealth management resonates with you, please contact us to start a conversation.
