Michael Shapiro Financial Advisor

Michael meets with the professionals and retirees he serves and advises them on effective wealth planning strategies by making use of the multiple hats he wears. “It enables me to tap multiple disciplines and explore creative solutions in wealth planning. I believe it sets me apart from other advisors.”

Michael’s goal for many of his clients is to invest in a risk-adjusted manner that allows for growth while preserving principal and generating cash flow. He devotes considerable time looking at the structure of his clients’ assets in addition to their investments. “Ultimately, our goal is to help enable our clients to enjoy the comfortable retirement they’ve envisioned,” said Michael.

Before joining Raymond James in July 2020, Michael was managing director of wealth management at Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 23 years. Earlier in his career, he practiced law for nine years. He holds a Juris Doctor degree and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Florida.

Michael has been recognized as one of the top financial advisors in the country by Barron’s from 2008-2019 and by Forbes in 2018 and 2020.

He has received a prestigious award from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Irving Eckhardt Mitzvah Society and has supported the Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options (JAFCO) of South Florida.

Michael is originally from Philadelphia and Miami, and today lives in Boca Raton with his wife, Mara, and children, Scott, Jenna and Daniel. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking and spending time with his family.

Barron’s Top 1,000 Financial Advisors, (2008-2013).  Barron’s is a registered trademark of Dow Jones & Company, L.P. All rights reserved.  The rankings are based on data provided by over 4,000 individual advisors and their firms and include qualitative and quantitative criteria.  Data points that relate to quality of practice include professionals with a minimum of 7 years financial services experience, acceptable compliance records (no criminal U4 issues), client retention reports, charitable and philanthropic work, quality of practice, designations held, offering services beyond investments offered including estates and trusts, and more. Financial Advisors are quantitatively rated based on varying types of revenues produced and assets under management by the financial professional, with weightings associated for each. Investment performance is not an explicit component because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are influenced more by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment picking abilities. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of the advisor’s future performance. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Barron’s is not affiliated with Raymond James.
