Joel is the Executive Vice President and Program Manager for Southside Investment Services. He specializes in helping people with significant life events, such as retirement or receiving an inheritance. Joel graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in finance and served on the Regional Alumni Council for several years. He began his career with Southside Bank in 1997 and, in 2018, was named as one of the "Top 100 Bank Financial Advisors" in the country by Bank Investment Consultant magazine.*
At age 12, Joel was nominated by his classmates to join Peer Helpers. This pivotal experience developed his passion for helping others and launched his journey of volunteerism. Joel has served as the Regional Chairman for Make-a-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses and is a member of Leadership Tyler, an organization committed to and vigorously engaged in serving the needs of the Tyler community. He is also currently serving on the Grace Community School Finance Committee. Earnestly desiring to encourage others to lead lives of service, Joel has involved even the smallest members of his family to volunteer in the community. Together, the family enjoys raising money for charity, ringing the bell for Salvation Army during holidays, and baking cookies for family members of hospice patients. The desire to help others is what drove Joel to the vocation of financial advisor.
Joel and his wife, MeShelle, are having a blast living life with their three children – Macy, Lauren, and Gabriel. They are deeply engaged in the life of their church and lead a small group Bible study in their home.
In his free time, Joel delights in making memories with his family.
