Mick Heitman, Chartered Financial Consultant, brings his 19 years of real-world business management experience with Sam’s Club/Walmart to complement his financial planning business. 

He held the positions of Alaska market manager and director of operations for the Northwest market of Sam’s Club where his responsibilities included supervising the market’s operations and 1,000 employees.

Mick’s decision to retire from the retail business gave him the opportunity to pursue a career that maximized his skills – from his analytical, strategic thinking to his passion for helping people achieve their life goals.

Mick determined that these strengths were the perfect complement for being a financial advisor. His enjoyment of investing on a personal level only reinforced the decision.

He began his financial services career in 2005 at Merrill Lynch. While there, Mick aimed to install confidence and trust with his clientele, often using his past real-life experience and success in a previous career.

This led Mick to become an investment advisor representative with Raymond James in October 2009. By the fall of 2010, he launched his own practice, Wealth Strategies of Alaska, LLC.

Mick holds the Series 7, 9, 10, and 66 securities licenses and life and health insurance licenses. He earned the Chartered Financial Consultant™ professional designation from the American College in June of 2011.

Mick resides in Anchorage, Alaska, with his son, Jonathan. His wide-ranging interests include enjoying the outdoors with his family, as well as fly-fishing and hunting.
