*To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. Lawyers enter the candidate pool by being formally nominated by a peer or if identified by the research department during the research process and are selected based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement: verdicts/settlements, transactions, representative clients, experience, honors/awards, special licenses/certifications, position within the law firm, bar and/or professional activity, pro bono and community service, scholarly lectures/writings, education/employment background, other outstanding achievements.
**To be selected for Greenville Legal Elite nominees must receive votes by area attorneys. While attorneys are allowed to nominate members of their own firm, for each in-firm nomination, there had to be an out-of-firm nomination. Voters are not allowed to vote for themselves.

For Brian, being a branch operations manager means being dedicated, organized and attuned to the needs of advisors. He ensures that his team can focus on clients and prospects instead of compliance and administrative tasks, and he maintains an efficient, business-friendly office environment. Brian joined Raymond James in 2007 as a financial advisor marketing consultant. He was drawn to the company because it is big enough to deliver Wall Street-level resources, but small enough to retain the regional culture of accessibility to firm leaders and openness to ideas. He also likes that the company provides advisors ownership and independence. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Davidson College in North Carolina, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He holds Series 7, 66 and 9/10 licenses, as well as the Life, Health and Variable Annuity License. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, he lives in Greenville with his wife, Melanie. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking and playing golf, tennis and soccer.
