Paul J. Benson III,

Paul is highly experienced in financial strategizing for divorce settlements, as well as complex estate planning scenarios for multigenerational families and their estates. He puts a tremendous amount of attention to detail into the financial recommendations he provides, and takes the time to ensure that his clients understand the plans and strategies he creates for them.

As a Certified Financial Planner professional, Paul holds one of the most respected financial planning credentials and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. His goal for his clients is to excel in pursuing their near- and long-term financial goals.

In addition, Paul is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® who has a high level of experience and understanding as it relates to pre- and post-judgment divorce strategies. “I educate people in divorce about their finances so that they feel supported and empowered in their decision-making and future,” Paul says. He delivers guidance to his clients with timeliness, thorough financial analysis, and in coordination with their other trusted professionals.

Paul joined the Benson Financial Planners of Raymond James team in 2012 to work with his father, Paul Benson Jr. He holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and is licensed in Michigan life and health insurance. A graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, he earned a BBA degree with a concentration in finance.

Dedicated to giving back in the community, Paul sponsors local families in need. His goal is to create an endowment that provides financial support for couples wishing to adopt children.

Paul is a native and lifelong resident of downtown Plymouth. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling in northern Michigan, and spending time with his wife, Katherine, and their daughter, Grace. He incorporates his passion for fitness and nutrition into his daily routine.
