Upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 2003, Matthew worked with the college ministry at his local church for several years. Soon after working in college ministry, Matthew began his career in the financial industry in 2005 as a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual. The most recent step in his career came in 2013 when he had the opportunity to join Decker Financial Group as a Financial Advisor with Raymond James. For the past 18 years and in the decades to come, Matthew remains committed to developing lasting relationships with his clients by partnering with them to help build a more confident future through sound financial planning. In 2011, Matthew completed the CHARTERED LIFE UNDERWRITER designation (CLU®) -- a designation that has long been recognized as the fundamental and foremost educational credential for life insurance professionals. He has continued his education by completing the RETIREMENT INCOME CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL designation (RICP®) in 2016 as well as the CHARTERED FINANCIAL CONSULTANT designation (ChFC®) in 2020. Matthew helps his clients identify retirement income needs and objectives by evaluating their current situation relative to the goals they want to achieve. Matthew then uses the techniques he has gained through experience and education to help his clients go through a process that works to help mitigate the risks that they may encounter in their pre or post retirement journey. Matthew has been married to his beautiful high school sweetheart, Jenn, for 21 years and they have 5 children. While pursuing a career in the financial industry, Matthew has also been involved with several local organizations and served as an Ambassador from 2006-2012 for the B/CS Chamber of Commerce and as past-Chairman of the Ambassador Program from 2011-2012 and he is currently serving on the Deacon Board at his church of which his family has attended since 1999. He has helped coach his sons little league baseball teams over the past several years and had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors at his children's school from 2014-2017.
