Gary L. Zaugg is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), a Chartered Advisor in Senior Living (CASL®) and a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP). He is the founding member of The ZAUGG Financial Group, Inc. and now serves as a Managing Partner with Cape Henry Private Wealth Group. Gary is also a Private Wealth Advisor with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., Member FINRA/SIPC.

A financial planning practitioner with more than 30 years of experience, his service style focuses proactively on money management, client ownership and control issues, and mistake avoidance. Gary also specializes in developing sophisticated financial and estate plans for high-net-worth clients and their heirs, as well as coordinating strategies with his clients’ legal and accounting advisors to create and implement complex estate and tax planning techniques.

Gary conducts ongoing investment reviews, based on need, regardless of his clients’ location, and maintains a high level of access and communication, which is a foundational service mark. Working with a team of highly dedicated and well-trained, licensed financial professionals, we assist and provide service to all clients, whether they are novice or seasoned investors.

Professionally, Gary has been listed in the Institute for Certified Financial Planners’ (ICFP) Registry of CFP® Licensed Practitioners. He has served in numerous leadership capacities on the local boards for the ICFP and the International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) – both of which have joined together to form the Financial Planning Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), the Society of Financial Services Professionals (SFSP), the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), and the Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Tidewater (CDST).

Gary completed his professional certification through the College for Financial Planning in Denver in 1991 and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 51 securities licenses as well as life, health, disability and long-term care insurance licenses. He has also completed advanced studies in behavioral finance through the Kennedy School of Business at Harvard University and estate planning through the Heckerling Institute for Estate Planning through the University of Miami School of Law.
