I’m Matt Zager, and I’m pleased to be a member of the Fisette & Kim Financial Services team. I bring a strong educational background to the field of personal financial planning. The Bachelor of Science in Personal Financial Planning I earned from Central Washington University, provided me with the educational foundation needed to be a financial advisor.
My girlfriend, Kelsey, and I, enjoy living in Kirkland, close to Lake Washington. We enjoy paddle boarding during the summer, and skiing in the Cascades in the winter.
My parents instilled in me, and my two older sisters, the importance of a strong work ethic, and the need to earn what we want. My childhood consisted of sports ranging from basketball, football, golf, and dirt bike riding. Through sports, I learned the value of respect, trust, and discipline. Before deciding to pursue a degree in personal financial planning, I pursued a degree in aviation, and completed multiple solo flights. The harsh winters in Ellensburg, brought on difficult conditions, and caused a pause in flying. From there, I realized aviation was not a true passion.
Shortly after COVID closed the university, and in-person classes went online, I decided to take a break from the university. I went to work as a full-time construction worker for the Covington Water District, where I had previously worked as a high school seasonal employee. I gained practical hands-on experience, and learned the value of hard work, attention to detail, and teamwork. The construction environment challenged me both physically and mentally, and I learned how to quickly adapt to changing circumstances. While this was a great opportunity, I knew there was more I wanted to achieve.
Growing up in a financially conservative household, I understood the value of money, and diligent saving. With such little financial literacy being taught in schools, I realized the opportunity of gaining valuable financial knowledge, and sharing it with those who could benefit. In the fall of 2021, I decided to return to Central Washington University, to complete a degree in Personal Financial Planning. This allowed me to satisfy the education requirements, that would allow me to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
After graduating from Central, I was hired by Fisette and Kim Financial Services, where I now work as a financial advisor. The seasoned financial advisors at Fisette and Kim provide me with tremendous opportunities for both personal and professional growth. I know no other financial services company cares as much for their team members. The open office environment provides the opportunity for each of us to learn from one another every day. We work hard, we have a good time every day, and everybody gets along. Fisette & Kim truly cares about their team members, and demonstrate this every day.
I look forward to Profoundly Impacting People’s Lives.
