John Patat Senior Vice President, Investments

John is a senior vice president of investments, financial advisor and co-founder of Focus Wealth Management at Raymond James. For nearly 25 years, he has worked with highly successful individuals, families and business leaders, providing personalized advice through a disciplined wealth management approach. His trading background enables him to help clients make smart investment decisions. He also helps manage the team’s moderate and growth strategies and is responsible for trading bonds for the group.

Growing up in Brooklyn, John was always interested in finance. He began his career as an assistant trader for Prudential Securities in New York City. He loved being part of the financial world and trading stocks for larger companies, but he discovered his true passion was working one-on-one with clients. At the age of 26, he moved to Fort Meyers and became a financial advisor with Dean Witter, which later became Morgan Stanley. He continued his upward trajectory in 2021 by joining Raymond James, a firm he admires for its enduring client-first values.

John enjoys working with like-minded clients who value and appreciate the level of skill and service delivered by Focus Wealth Mangement. His goals-based process begins with asking meaningful questions and attentively listening to what they have to say. These conversations serve as the foundation for the comprehensive plans and investment portfolios that John creates for each clients.

In addition to building plans centered on his clients’ near-term needs and long-held goals, John enjoys building deep trusting relationships with everyone he serves. His clients soon become part of his family and he becomes part of theirs.

John and his wife, Eileen, live in Naples. They met when John was 16 and have been married for over 25 years. Together, they have three grown children, Tiffany, Timothy and Taylor. Outside of the office, John enjoys giving back to his community as president of The Naples Premier Men’s Group. He has also been a softball coach for various teams over the past 15 years. His other favorite pastimes include fishing, boating, bowling and golf.
