Gregg Matsuura has a total of 33 years of experience in Hawaii managing investments that range from real estate to stocks. He forms investment plans based upon people's stages in life. He has successfully helped clients build retirement portfolios and to invest during retirement designed to help protect and minimize risk. He has first-hand experience managing real estate investments in the aftermath of the Japanese Bubble, and a full range of investments during the Technology Crisis and the Financial Crisis.
He has worked 23 years as a financial advisor to individuals and institutions. He was recruited by Raymond James in June of 2017. Prior to Raymond James he was a financial advisor at UBS for 10 years and Smith Barney for 7 years. From 1992 to 1999, he was instrumental in managing the development of Dole-Iwilei, Mililani Technology Park, Dole Plantation and the Town Center of Mililani.
Mr. Matsuura holds an MBA and Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California, with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Hawaii - Manoa and graduated from Iolani School.
Mr. Matsuura is a CIMA®, Certified Investment Management Analyst and a CRPS®, Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM. As a CIMA®, he uses industry standard approaches towards diversification and selection of investment strategies. As a CRPS®, he has a deeper understanding of how retirement plans work so that he can better help his clients make informed decisions.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman and member of the Board of Directors for the St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii because he believes in caring for and assisting people in need of healthcare in our community. He's a member at the Waialae Country Club and enjoys golf, swimming, boating and deep sea fishing.
