Adam C. English, CRPC® First Vice President, Investments

Since 2005, Adam has helped clients go the distance in pursuing their meaningful long-term goals. A Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ and former collegiate long-distance runner, he maintains a long-term perspective on investing, helping clients navigate the ever-evolving markets. His efforts were recognized by Forbes in 2019, when he was named to its Best-In-State Next-Generation Wealth Advisors list.*

As a second-generation financial advisor, Adam learned from his father the value of friendly interaction with clients. At the age of 12, Adam fondly recalls sitting in his dad’s office, doing his homework, and ultimately, purchasing his first stock that year. After graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in selling and sales management, Adam launched his career at Morgan Stanley. He moved to Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2007 to join his father until his retirement in 2016. In 2021 he joined Raymond James, drawn by the firm’s client-first approach.

Adam believes that his ability to ask questions and learn from clients allows him to design strategies that can respond to their financial and personal needs as they evolve. When it comes to investments, Adam is a strong proponent of diversified portfolios. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation from the College for Financial Planning and a place in his heart for his alma mater – serving as a board member of the Purdue Alumni Club of Southwest Florida. Adam is a firm believer in continuing to learn and the value of education. To back up this philosophy, in 2021 he earned his MBA from Purdue University and received the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) Designation in 2022.

Previously, Adam served as cross country and track coach at Barron Collier and Gulf Coast high schools in Naples. He currently serves on the board of the Forum Club of Southwest Florida and on the Advisory Board of PASFI (Parkinson Association of Southwest Florida). An avid traveler, Adam enjoys beach life in his hometown of Naples with his wife, Shannon, and their lab, Wrigley. Adam also plays soccer, golf and, yes, he’s still a runner.

*The Forbes Next-Gen Wealth Advisors rankings, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criterion, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered are under 40, have a minimum of four years’ experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass the highest standards of best practices. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC. Research Summary (as of April 2019): Out of roughly 29,334 nominations received, 250 made the final list in 2019. Neither SHOOK nor Forbes receives compensation from the advisors or their firms in exchange for placement on a ranking. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or SHOOK Research, LLC.
