Bill Sherlach
Bill Sherlach Sr. Portfolio Management Advisor, RJFS Senior Vice President, The IST Group

A veteran of the financial industry, Bill joins Raymond James after spending 28 years at Merrill Lynch and 12 years at Morgan Stanley. During his career, Bill has been steadfast in putting his select group of clients first. By joining the independent channel of Raymond James, Bill is taking another step forward in solidifying that resolve.

By making certain to understand his clients’ needs, wants and desires, Bill can begin the process of implementing what he believes is necessary to pursue the mission – all while bearing in mind the specific risk tolerances and volatility parameters of each individual. This can oftentimes encompass an intergenerational meeting of the family. This process includes drawing up a financial plan, creating asset allocation models, building investment strategies and implementing the investment decisions.

Bill graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland, where he played varsity football and graduated with a degree in economics. He honors his late wife, Mary, and her work with children by serving on the board of directors, currently as chairman, for Sandy Hook Promise – a nationwide nonprofit that was created following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Bill has two daughters, Maura and Katy. Maura is a choral teacher at Overbrook High School in New Jersey. She is married and the mother to two daughters, Mackenzie and Olivia. Katy graduated from Georgetown University with a Ph.D. in chemistry and works for the U.S. Patent Office in Alexandria, Virginia.

Bill resides in Trumbull, Connecticut, with Margot Vacheron and her two children: Megan, who attends Marist College, and Ian, a senior at Trumbull High School. In his off time, Bill can be found at his cottage on Owasco Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York, playing golf, and traveling to new and exciting places.
