As the lead financial advisor for the John Makranyi Wealth Management Group of Raymond James located in Gaylord, Michigan, John offers a comprehensive range of wealth management services. With a background in asset management and institutional research, he has the knowledge and experience to handle the various needs of his clients. John earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. He was accepted to several professional programs, and he attended graduate school at Northwestern University. He joined Raymond James in 1983.

John holds multiple industry licenses including: Series 7, 63, 65, 8, and 24. He is also licensed to provide life, health, and long term care insurance as well as fixed, indexed, and variable annuities. In his over 30 year career with Raymond James, he has held membership in the Chairman's Council, the President's Club, and the Leader's Club*.

To give back to his community, John has been actively involved in many organizations and boards including Gaylord Rotary Club, Otsego Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the Otsego County United Way. Additionally, John volunteers with the Otsego County Food Pantry and is a member of the Lewiston Congregational Church where he has served on the Board of Trustees. Originally from Flint, Michigan, he resides in Gaylord with his wife, Denise. They have two grown daughters, Melissa and Meghan. When John is not in the office, he enjoys running, golfing, biking, and spending time with his family in beautiful Northern Michigan.
