• Skip McLinden III

    Financial Advisor

Helping people find a true understanding of their financial goals and putting them on a path to pursuing them is what motivates Skip. He sees himself as the professional mediator to help people and goals meet, allowing a client to simply talk and get important concerns and ideas out. This also allows him to take good notes and respond, taking in what is truly important to a client and creating a financial plan based on their priorities.

Since 2011, he has built a practice based on comprehensive financial planning for individuals and families. He takes the process one step further, incorporating clients’ families for an intergenerational approach to wealth transfer.

Skip joined Raymond James in 2019, drawn by its client-first values and the opportunity to work with his wife and fellow financial advisor, Darcy, as a team. Before that, he served as a financial advisor, compliance leader, mentor to new financial advisors and field trainer with Edward Jones Investments. He earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in choral conducting from Sam Houston State University.

Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, he lives in the town of Spring with his wife and their two children. They attend Trinity Episcopal Church in The Woodlands. When he’s away from the office, Skip enjoys woodworking, being a dad and traveling to unique locations. He also enjoys long-distance cycling and participating in the BP MS 150 each year, as well as other charity and social rides.
