John is an advocate and ally for clients, providing guidance and service through each chapter of their lives. For over 20 years, he has been helping his clients define their financial goals and the priorities that matter most to them, then helping lay the path to pursue them.
From building new relationships to customizing portfolios, he is patient and informed, and tailors his support to clients’ unique needs. John doesn’t chase hot stocks or trendy investments. Instead, he searches for straightforward, sensible ways to manage and preserve his clients’ wealth.
Ultimately, his goal is to help families plan for their financial futures while enjoying their experiences today. Since 2000, John has brought customized retirement planning strategies to affluent individuals and their families, many of whom have worked with him for over a decade.
John was named to the 2021 edition of the Forbes list of Best in State Wealth Advisors†. Before Raymond James, John was a member of Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Advisor Group and Wells Fargo Advisor Private Client Group. He has spent his entire career in the financial services industry, dedicating his life to helping clients make the most of their lives. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he graduated with honors.
He holds several professional designations, including CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Certified Wealth Strategist®, Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Financial Consultant® and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®.
When he’s not working with clients, John enjoys contributing to his community. He supports organizations and community programs that promote the arts, like the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, and assists people in need, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Baptist Children’s Home, and Winston-Salem Rescue Mission. He also enjoys boating and spending time with his family at Smith Mountain Lake. He lives in Greensboro with his wife, Dianne, their three children and four dogs.
