Image of Island of Grenada

Guest Contributor: Joel Singer

As the Midwest and most parts of the country were settling into winter and sub-zero weather, it was time for us to “Get Lost” somewhere warm. In our case, it was the Caribbean and the island of Grenada in particular.

Grenada, an island in the West Indies, in the Caribbean Sea, it is also known as the Spice Island due to its production of Nutmeg and Mace. Grenada, which was formed by volcanoes, is an island with a mountainous interior and several small rivers with waterfalls that flow into the sea.

As part of our exploration of the island, we stopped at Annandale Waterfall and Forest Park to view the stunning waterfall and scenic vegetation. Beneath the thirty-foot waterfall is a natural pool where many people swim. The waterfall was beautiful and helped us to appreciate the overall beauty of Grenada. Although we did not go for a swim, it appeared that those who ventured into the water were having a good time.

This waterfall and park are just one of the scenes that represent the beauty of this island. We hope to be able to return in the future and explore more of the natural beauty that Grenada offers.
