Gary Soben, CFP®, CIMA®, ChFC® Senior Financial Planning Consultant

Gary believes his greatest strength as a financial advisor is his ability to listen, learn and strive to do what’s right for each of his clients. What sets his approach apart is that he takes the time to carefully find out where someone is presently – and where they’re going. From there, Gary crafts a tailored financial plan that factors in the client’s goals, dreams and aspirations.

Gary is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and holds both the Certified Investment Management Analyst℠ and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations. Having been a wealth management advisor at various firms, Gary’s almost 50-year career has evolved a lot – but the one constant has been putting his clients, shareholders and constituents first. Gary attended Escambia High School and Pensacola College and graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.

Having joined Raymond James in early 2023 with his multigenerational practice – which includes his daughter, Laura – Gary is equipped with the tools, technologies and resources to perform as an effective planner for his team and help ensure his clients stay on course. “Helping people pursue their goals is the fuel to my fire as a financial professional. I’ve found that the culture at Raymond James fits my values and my business model perfectly.”

When he’s not helping his clients with their financial planning, outside the office Gary is involved in a variety of civic activities. He’s a past president of Rotary and engages in supporting Compassion International, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and local food banks. In his free time, he enjoys expanding his spiritual life, watching football and making memories with his grandchildren.

As someone who grew up in a Navy family, Gary is no stranger to living and traveling all over the United States. Gary was a captain in the United States Marines and a designated Naval aviator. He lives in Fort Worth with his spouse, Jill, and has five children: Dr. Wes Soben, Sadie Powell, Laura Gonzales, Raith Gwathney and Madison Jacob.
