David is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. The CFP® certification is one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning.

David has extensive knowledge of retirement planning, estate planning, benefits planning, tax planning, investment management, and insurance planning. He enjoys helping people address financial concerns and complexities, identify and pursue their goals, and leave a lasting legacy.

Before founding Southern Springs Capital Group, David worked at Merrill Lynch for two decades, most recently as a first vice president. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management. Today, David is a member of The Owen Circle, Owen's donor society.

Originally from Springfield, Tennessee, David lives in Franklin with his wife, Karen. The Jacksons have four children, David Jr., Brandon, Sydney, and Bridget. David is a member of Brentwood Baptist Church, where he has served as a deacon since 2004 and currently serves as a life group leader and deacon team leader. David currently serves on the board of the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County. He previously served on the board of the Nashville Repertory Theatre and currently serves on their Advisory Council. David has completed nine marathons and enjoys playing golf and tennis in his free time.
