Jon is highly experienced and accomplished at developing customized financial plans purposely designed to manage wealth, preserve assets and pursue the individual objectives of our clients.
He has expertise in many vital financial specialties such as helping clients plan for sustainable income during retirement and, ultimately, executing the efficient management and wealth transfer of their estates.
During his career, he has expanded his capabilities by earning many professional designations, including Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM, Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor™.
He currently holds the Series 7, 66, 9 and 10 licenses and is a registered investment advisor representative and branch manager, along with being a life, health, disability and long term care insurance licensure.
Jon joined the original members of The Melges Group in 2002 as a financial consultant. Previously, he served on the tax and audit team of a regional accounting firm. He graduated with honors from Western Michigan University's Haworth Business College, double majoring in finance and accounting.
Committed to continuing education, Jon attended the Securities Industry Institute through The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and successfully completed coursework in preferred portfolio management. In 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Jon was 1 of 15 people selected in the nation for the Legg Mason Client Solutions Advisory Council.
Personal Information
Jon and his wife Sandra, have two children, Freddy and Gabby. Jon coaches and is an active member of Little League Baseball in Battle Creek and enjoys hunting and fishing.
