On May 17, 1792, stockbrokers gathered under a buttonwood tree on Wall Street to establish rules for buying and selling bonds and shares for companies. These pioneers who created the first version of the New York Stock Exchange inspire us as we serve clients with integrity and ingenuity. Our name traces its roots to this pivotal event in U.S. financial history, an agreement that showed we’re stronger together.
