Bobby Cockrell began his career as a financial advisor in 1984 when he joined Scharff & Jones, Inc. He has spent his entire career with the same firm as the firm became Morgan Keegan & Co., Inc. and now Raymond James & Associates, Inc.

As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional, Bobby enjoys helping individuals and families develop and execute wealth management plans from the accumulation phase through the distribution phase. He also works with institutional accounts, including 401(k) and other types of retirement plans. He is a member of Raymond James Institutional Advisor Committee and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®). He also works with governmental institutional accounts and is a Registered Municipal Advisor.

Bobby has a degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. Bobby has served in many capacities at his church, including Chairman of the Finance Council. He currently serves as the President and Chairman of the Board of Louisiana Tech Applied Research Corporation.

Bobby and his wife, Julie, have been married for 34 years. They have two sons, Prade Cockrell, who is a licensed Occupational Therapist in Shreveport, as well as his youngest son, Peyton Cockrell, who is also a Financial Advisor with the Cockrell Wealth Management Group of Raymond James.


Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
