From November 1989 through May 2001, I held several positions ranging from Hourly Labor to Vice President of Operations for a waste management firm. The last position held was Vice President of Operations, where I had a $60 million-dollar budget responsibility and managed several plants in the United States and Canada.
In 2002, I opened my own business as an Independent Investment & Financial Advisor affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services. In October 2009, we relocated our office from Akron to Barberton where we now manage approximately $120 million in assets for individuals and small businesses.
After graduating from Barberton High School in 1984, I attended Tiffin University where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in 1989. Several years later, while building a career in the Hazardous Waste industry, I pursued and received a Masters of Business Administration in Executive Management from Ashland University.
I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Barberton Salvation Army, Akron Area YMCA, Barberton Community Foundation, Barberton Parks & Recreation and Barberton Community Development Corp. I am an active member of the Magic City Kiwanis and Barberton Rotary. I previously served on the Boards for the South Summit Chamber of Commerce, Mobile Meals Foundation and Summa SW Region.
I was born, raised and reside in the City of Barberton. I am married to my wife, Kim of 30 years; and have two daughters; Justine (21) and Jessica (17).
I served on the Barberton Community Foundation Board of Directors for 11 years from 2003 to 2014 and was recently nominated to serve an additional 3-year term. In 2005 & 2009, I was elected to the Barberton School Board where I served for 8 years.
During my 11 years serving the Barberton Community Foundation Board, I served as Treasurer and Chair of the Investment Committee for 9 years. Served as Board Chair in 2014, 2019 & 2020.
During my 8 years serving on the Barberton Board of Education, I served as Board President in 2009, 2010 & 2012 and as Vice President in 2008 and 2011.
